I am obsessed with makeup. This is the first thing you should know about me. I am not a professional makeup artist or ever been professionally trained at applying makeup. I am just a woman who for as long as I can remember has been in love with makeup. I will not profess to be especially talented with makeup but I think I can safely say I am better at it than the average woman who wears makeup on a daily basis.
I have never ever wanted to start a blog, never really figured I had much to say that people other than my friends and loved ones would ever truly care about hearing. I am not terribly funny and for the most part am a complete geek. I read a lot, I play World of Warcraft, I spent many years playing table top role playing games and I several times a year dress up in Renaissance clothes and camp for a weekend with other people of like mind. See told you I am a geek. LOL.
So you might be wondering then why I am bothering to start a blog now after stating the above mentioned stuff. Well for my birthday (12/13) and for Christmas my friends and family gifted me with 262 new eyeshadow colors!! These insane people totally feed the obsession. . God love them. So faced with this and well 200+ other colors I had to think of a way to use the 262 new colors as well. So a friend came up with the idea that I should work through the new palettes one color at a time. Much to his surprise I took to the idea. So my goal and the purpose of this blog is to work through those 262 colors one day and one color at a time. Leaving me 103 days in 2012 where I don't have to wear makeup and just give me a creative break.
So I am going to start working through the palettes, I can only use one of the new colors for each look. I will be working through the palettes on at a time. However, eyeshadow looks rarely involve one eyeshadow so I will be able to use colors from my older palettes to help build each look.
lol let the adventure begin I suppose.
The above pictures show the 4 palettes I received for my Birthday and Christmas. Pictured from top right then clockwise. BHC 120 3rd edition, below that is the BHC 120 Shimmer or (2nd) edition, then Urban Decay's Naked Palette and above that is the Tarte Ten Palette. I will be starting with the Naked Palette on January 1st, 2012.
